Hi,

Recently I was checking all my video files stored in my laptop and I moved all my Video files to a folder and then accidentally deleted this folder. Unfortunately those files were not found in the recycle bin also. In hurry I might have pressed shift +Delete key.

I want to recover all the files as they are very important to me…

Any suggestions will be of great help!

Hi Jasper,

May I know the Operating System installed on your drive and also the file system of the drive?

It would be easy to suggest particular software for your problem…

Hi,

I am using Linux, having two partitions one with ext2 file system and the other having ext3. The folder about which I was speaking is been deleted from the partition having ext3 file system.

Will I be able to recover my folder out off it?

Another great product to try is Advanced File Recovery, it works very well. It costs $39.95. It has many features, and the utility helped a lot of people, and me too. The program can recover different files. It supports different media types: memory sticks, hard drives, memory cards from digital cameras, floppies, external drives, and others.

Alright buddy, now that you met this problem, why not take care in next time?

I think you'd better install a backup software, because data recovery software doesn't work every time. Right?

Now my idea is to download and install a backup software. Here I recommend you

PCNumen Backup: http://www.pcnumen.com
CVBackup: http://www.cvbackup.com

Steve,

This can be done without using a professional data recovery house. First thing you have to do is turn the computer/hard drive off as using it will decrease your chances of recovery. Put it in an enclosure and clone it t another drive (in case anything goes wrong) Then you can start playing around with the clone and various free softwares.
