Hi,

I am unable to open my word documents anymore. I run Windows XP and drive is formatted with NTFS. Every time I try to open any word file the access is denied. However the other MS Office components work normally.

I confirmed the documents are not used by any other program and are not write-protected. CHKDSK finds no problem at all. Are my documents corrupted? If so, Please help me suggesting a way to solve this problem.

Hello Juliet !

Sounds like you have a hung process. Use the Task Manager and make sure that you don’t have any process hung and it is not being holding any files.

Simply end the process, by following these steps:

On the Processes tab, click the process that you want to end, and then click End Process.

Hope this solves your problem.
