Hi All,

I had a Sun Sparcstation, which is upgraded to Solaris 2.6. Everything was going pretty well but after upgrading, the tape device drivers are not recognized by the Operating System. Is there any other option other than re-installing the OS?

Please Help me get out of this!!!

Hello Alden!

Check the driver for the SCSI controller that the tape drive is attached to. If everything is connected properly and the OS still does not recognize your tape drive.

Check that the driver loaded is the correct driver.  After confirming that the correct SCSI driver is loaded, the operating system will detect the tape device.

Hope this solves your problem!!

Salvager.
