Hi All,

I have a very serious problem, Can anyone help me get out of this.

When I try to copy a file from the disk drive to the tape drive, the process hangs up for a long period of about 5 hours and it does not return any command prompt. So, I cancelled the process and later when I retried I got a message as “Device is used by another process”.

I am sure the problem will be solved if I reboot the server, but I can’t restart the server it is a production side.

Please provide me any other solution, its very urgent...!

Dino.

Hello Dino,

I think you need to change your SCSI ID on the tape drive. It’s very simple:

Menu> Edit Options> SCSI>Drive Bus ID. Now change the ID.

After this, run IO AUTO from SYSMAN, it will give you access to the drive and you can reboot later.

All the Best!!!

Hope this solves your problem.
