Hi All,

I have a 500 GB Maxtor hard drive which worked well for few months. Now, it’s not working, the computer recognizes the drive, but I am not able to access the drive at all. I tried a recovery program which said me that the drive is security locked. I want to pull some old pictures off of the drive.  Can anyone suggest me what can I do?

Hi Yona,

In such type of scenario, I would suggest you to connect your drive as slave to a healthy machine. And install any photo recovery software on healthy machine to which you have connected your drive as slave. Since the drive is password protected you can’t work on the same drive by connecting it as Master, as it won’t be able to access the drive without password.

Doing this you would be able to recover your lost pictures.
