Hi Jennifer,
I must say you have made a pretty fair decision
of installing a hardware RAID. In hardware RAID the hardware components control
the RAID, so you get a much better read and write speed and also more fault
tolerate.
RAID 1 creates exact copy of a set of data
on two or more disks, so in case of one drive failure the other drive can run
normally on operating system. You can RAID 1 with 3 drives or even more as per
