I am really sorry to tell you that, it is highly impossible to recover the data once it gets overwritten, as it reaches a level beyond recovery.
In your case, you have mentioned that it has overwritten a part of the previously recorded video. So there are very few chances that whole data can be recovered. Leaving overwritten videos might be rest of the videos can be recovered.
I would suggest you to send the drive to any data recovery service labs, and check out whether data can be recovered or not. In almost all the data recovery services, they provide a free evaluation from which you will come to know whether your data can be salvaged. You need not pay for this evaluation unless and until they confirm that your data can be recovered, only by then you need to pay the recovery charges.
