Hello Jaida,
There are two conditions that will create the situation you described.
1. Your card may have experienced a "hardware failure". In this case, a component or wire trace inside the card case has failed, breaking the electrical path, effectively making your flash memory card 'invisible' to your camera or a card reader.
2. The second condition that can create the same indication is software corruption of a critical file on the flash memory card. When this file has been corrupted or erased, your camera or card reader will no longer recognize the card.
In either of the case data can be recovered.
Since the card is not getting detected either by the camera or by flashcard reader its better that you contact a Professional Data Recovery Services who would help recovering the pictures from the memory card. They provide a FREE Evaluation and follow ‘No Recovery, No Charge’ policy, so if they are unable to recover your data, you don’t need to pay anything.
As you have mentioned, the data you are looking for is very important so better you don’t try to do recovery yourself, doing which you would loose your data permanently. So without taking any risk send it to Data Recovery services.
