Hi All,
I am entirely new to Linux, at present I am running Windows Vista. I have a lot of information on my hard disk partition with my all bank account information. Now after shifting to Linux will I be able to copy the stuff off the partition after I switch to Linux?
What if the data is lost? Is there any software that can help me out, if the data is lost?
Kara.

Hello Kara,
Yes, it is possible to copy your stuff off the partition after you switch to Linux. Usually there is nothing like data loss situation to be shifted to Linux.
But, since you have critical data on your Windows vista, to be on safer side take back up of all your data to CD's or DVD's. Then go ahead...
