Hello!
I have an IBM ThinkPad t-30 laptop which is not booting. The hard disk is making loud clicking noise once in every second.
I guess the hard disk has failed but not sure, whether the platter is damaged or it is just a symptom of a head that is going back and forth.
Can my laptop ever boot again? How can I get my data back?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Adam.

Hello Adam!
Yes, it’s a case of hard drive crash. Don’t try to open your hard drive, as this may further damage the device and lead to a permanent data loss situation.
You need to contact a professional data recovery service, they will crack open your damaged hard drive in a clean room and recover your data.
