Hi Guys,

I had to copy some of the files to my USB Drive, but was running out of space. So thought of deleting few files, and emptied little space on my drive and copied the required files.

But, now realize that I need some of the files that I deleted.

I have used a product from the internet to recover the file that I need most but it is in poor condition, it is a RTF text file with garbage characters in it.

Is there any ways I can recover my deleted data?

Guys, please help recover my data!

Hi Justin,

Without using the drive further, if you had just deleted the files and tried to recover, then there were good chances of recovery. But now since you have already overwritten the deleted files by copying new files on to the same location, the chances of recovery are very low. Once data gets overwritten, it becomes highly impossible to recover them.

Garbage characters are the result of overwriting. Still if you want to give a try with some other software then, you can use File Recovery Software, which searches only for deleted files. Try using this software, lets see the results.
