I was trying to save a file, but failed. Could also hear what sounded like the head seeking about every second, no other sounds or activity.

Drive is no longer recognized when attached on both desktop and laptop.

Hi Deno,

Every Hard Disk crash is of two kinds, one is logical failure and the other is internal failure. In your case the drive has undergone internal failure so it is not getting recognized on either Desktop or Laptop.

I would suggest you not to try and turn it on further as this may create further damages to the hard drive.

In this particular scenario, you would need to consult a Professional Data Recovery Services Company. With which you would be able to get back your data.
