First you need to be very sure about drive getting detected in the BIOS of the computer or not. To confirm go to the system BIOS (see owner's manual for instructions) and check for the connected drives, if BIOS is unable to recognise the attached drive then there is a physical problem to the drive.
This might have been caused due to various reasons, generally this is due to ageing of the component or mishandling with the device (sudden drop).
You need to send the drive to Data Recovery Services company and ask them for a free evaluation of the media and know the chances of recovery after completion the evaluation.
PS : Don't try to open the drive on your own or don't give your drive to any person who isn't qualified to open Hard Drives, as after hit and trial methods, the chances recovery can reduce drastically causing permanent damage to data.
