I have a Maxtor hard drive with NTFS. I was copying files from a corrupted windows installation onto an external drive. Everything was going great, after some time the copy process stopped while I was trying to copy some of my outlook .pst files.
However the copy process was 75% done. For now I can’t see the files on the original hard drive. Is it gone?

Hi Kara,
Before suggesting you anything I would like to know some details regarding your issue.
What Command did you use to copy?
Did you have write permissions to the external drive? Can you take the non-booting hard drive and put it in your hard drive enclosure to read it as external on another windows machine?

Hi, Easiest way is to take the drive out and attach it to a
working pc to see if you can salvage the data . . it works best if you attach
it to the secondary channel.......!
