Hi,

I have a Hard Disk of size 300GB. I have saved lot of information and documents in this drive. Now, I am not able to find them. My files have been deleted. I don’t know how… We cannot identify, may be due to virus.

Is there any way, to recover my lost files?

Hi Nikita,

I have a few questions on your query, and I would like you to answer those questions,

1.      Is this your main drive?

2.      How many partitions is the drive having and on which partition have you lost your data?

3.      May I also know the file system of the drive?

4.      Have you not installed Antivirus in your system? If not then please do that first.

It is an External Hard Drive, having single partition on it and having FAT file system. Is there anything I can do myself than taking the drive to a data recovery service?

Yes off course you can recover your data by yourself using FAT Recovery Software. First try with the demo version, once you get confirm that this is what you wanted then go on purchasing the software.

Since the drive is having single partition in it, install the software on a healthy machine and then connect this faulty hard drive as salve to the machine where you have installed the software and then start the recovery process.

Hope this helps you recover your lost data.
