Hi All,

I am using a Seagate SAIT tape and when I try to backup files onto it I get an error message:

"Required Media Missing. Click Cancel to select another type Note: It may take up to 60 seconds for Removable Storage to recognize new media"

I gave the drive a few minutes and retried later, but I always get the same error message.

Any suggestions!!!

Hi Kara,

The error message you are getting indicates that the tape drive is not recognized by the system.

Check whether the cable into the parallel port is properly connected. It seems to be a simple case of loose contact. Just unplug and connect back the data cable properly and your tape drive will be easily recognized.

Hope this solves the problem!!!!
