Hi,

I was seriously working on some project, in middle of the work I accidentally deleted a 40GB partition and lost all the documents and an important folder which I worked on that for over a month. One of my colleague advised me to install the data recovery software on to the same Maxtor Hard drive and save the recovered data to another hard drive. But the doubt is will this work...

First and foremost I want to recover the folder which I lost so suggest me any software which will help me to recover my folder as soon as possible. Eagerly waiting for the reply...

Hi Tamsyn,

It would be very difficult to suggest you any software as you haven’t mentioned the details for the OS and file system which was on the drive.

Send us more details as required and mentioned below:

How many partitions is the drive having and what was the file system on 40 GB partition?
Any other detail which you feel would help us know more about your issue.

And please make sure, you don’t install or save anything on to the same partition from which you have experienced data loss. Doing this would result in permanent data loss. It’s highly impossible by any software to recover the data once it gets overwritten.

Hi Aiyana,

The drive was having two partitions, both having NTFS file system. Thank you for your advice, I’ll not make a mistake by installing the software on to the same partition from where I have lost my data.

Can I install the software on the other partition? But the problem, there is no much space on the other partition, so I think I can’t install the software on to this partition. What can be done?
