Hi there,

I have a RAID 10 setup with 4 disks. Recently one of the drive failed and has been replaced. The Bios menu now shows:

2 disks OK

1 disk REPLACED

1 disk DEGRADED.

The machine is booting now, and the interface says it is rebuilding but gives no time-to-finish or progress indication. I have heard people using data recovery tools for RAID. Has anyone tried recovering RAID 10 using data recovery tools?

Hi Kristina,

Have you tried any data recovery software for RAID earlier. If you are confident and sure with what you are doing then you can go ahead. There are times when people opt for certain software for recovering their lost/deleted data. However, you should be cautious while using such tools because selecting any wrong option can overwrite on your existing data, making it impossible for you to recover your data.

For the cause of your important data, I suggest you to contact Data Recovery Services that provide RAID Recovery. As, mostly it happens, the users fail to recover data personally and make the process of data recovery harder.
