Hi,

We have Dell Power Edge 4600 Device, having 3 drives in an array with RAID 5 configuration.

We are currently attempting to recover data from this array. The RAID controller showed up as "dead" on the RAID diagnostics utility, and so a new container was created with the same three drives as members.  So far the disk has been flagged as "unallocated" in the OS (Server 2003, Disk Management Console)

We have recently sent the RAID drives to a company, and they state that "they were unable to recover any data as the RAID was re-configured and therefore destroyed the data. Similar to what we were doing they were only able to view and not recover any data."

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dino,

By creating a new container, have you changed the drive orders also? If you have changed the orders then you would have had backed up all your data before any attempt was made to reconfigure your RAID device.

You should be more careful in choosing any Data Recovery Services, as you should not take any chances with your data.

I would not hesitate to recommend my clients who are in need of data recovery services, for a company who have expert engineers working on RAID Recovery . Till now, all my clients whom ever I have referred are happy with the results they have got and by their courtesy, expertise and professionalism.

By now I hope you would have choosen the right service!
