Hello,

I have Dell Laptop and unfortunately my hard drive crashed last week and it seems like the BIOS is trashed completely. I am assuming that all my data might be wiped out if this seems to be true, can I retrieve my data from this drive?

If so, can you suggest me any software that could do something to get back my data?

Waiting for the reply...

Hi Kara,

By looking into your problem, it doesn’t look like the drive is having any problem. If BIOS is trashed it’s due to some motherboard problem. To be on a safer side, kindly check the Hard Drive by connecting the drive as slave to any desktop and check whether the data on the drive is still intact or not.

As you have guessed earlier, if the data has got wiped off then no need to worry, your data can be recovered using any Data Recovery Software.

Depending on the file system of the drive you can either go for a NTFS Data Recovery Software or FAT Recovery Software.

If by any chance the drive is not getting detected on any system then you have another way to recover your data that is contacting Professional Data Recovery Services who would help recovering your data.

Thank you for the reply.

I tried connecting my drive as slave to a Desktop, the drive got recognized but I was not able to access any data on it. This is troubling me a lot.

But I am happy that you have showed me two ways to recover my data. Now I have to make choice between Software and Services.

Well, I’ll decide it in a shorter time and will let you know the results for sure.
