Hi there,

HELP! I was working on my PowerPoint Presentation, finished everything and saved it on my USB drive. Now when I open the drive is blank, there are no documents found, I had completed the Presentation and ejected the drive, when I came back to open it the drive is empty,

If I don’t get my presentation back I am dead

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alden,

Please don’t panic, I would help in recovering your presentation, provided you give me some more information based on your data loss issue.

  1. May I know the cause for this data loss?
  2. How many partitions is the drive having and on which partition had you stored this project presentation.
  3. After the data loss situation, have you tried to save any data on to the same location from where you lost your data?

Thanks for getting back to me, Aiyana. Here are my answers for your questions,

1.      I am really not sure as to what happened. All of a sudden my drive went blank.

2.      Drive is having only single partition. Since I maintain this drive to save my documents, I saved the presentation. I have lost all my data on this drive. But I am concerned only with the presentation recovery.

3.      No, once I came to know that I have lost my presentation, I dint use this drive at all, as I was scared of loosing my data further.

Regarding file system, it’s FAT.

Hi Alden,

Thanks for providing me the required information.

In this particular scenario, I would suggest you to use any File Recovery software, from which you would be able to recover your presentation.

I would also like to provide you some precautions, never try to install or download any software on to the drive/ partition from which you want to recover data, also never save any data on the same drive from which you are recovering data.

So from this, I hope you are clear as where to install and run the software in order to retrieve your data.

Thanks for your guidance. Will search for the software and give a try.
