My dad’s computers hard drive crashed. I researched about some recovery programs, which say that the computer has to be ON and the drive has to be detected for the recovery software to do its job. Here comes the problem. When I try to boot the system, it just stays at a blank screen and says “drive not detected”. I have tons of information on the drive.

Please suggest me how do I recover the files off this drive.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Jaida,

I would like to tell you that, unless and until the media from which you want to recover data is recognized by your system, you can’t use any data recovery software for recovery purpose. Since software can be used to recover data only from the media which gets detected in BIOS.

In this particular scenario I would suggest you to choose a professional Data Recovery Services. Generally recovery services people do not charge for evaluation, charges are levied once the data has been recovered up to the satisfaction.
