Hi,

I have a Hard Drive that is shorted. The PC will not start if plugged in, but transferred data before installing onto new motherboard.

The Hard Drive was set up to be a slave. After starting up with the new motherboard, the PC would not start with drive connected. After checking I noticed some pins bent.

I suspect the board on the hard drive is shorted. I tried connecting the same drive to another PC and the power adaptor started to smoke as soon as I powered up.

Any information you might have on this would be greatly appreciated.
