Hi,

I have 2 year old Western Digital 60GB drive and it’s making loud clicking sounds when powered on. The drive spins up and BIOS recognizes it some times, but most of the time BIOS not recognizing it.

What exactly is happening to the drive? Is it an indication of drive failure or any data loss situation? I am really scared of this; shall I consult any data recovery services to examine the drive?

PLEASE advice me, I need help urgently.

Hi Sayen,

Loud clicking noises from the drive may lead to the drive failure. Since BIOS also not recognizing the drive properly, dont experiment anything with your drive.

In your case it is better to consult any professional Data Recovery Services and submit your drive for evaluation.

Hope you get solution for your problem...
