Hi there,

I have a crash with RAID boot up message showing one hard drive has failed. 5 SATA drives with Promise chip set on my motherboard with RAID 5 striping. The BIOS utility does not have a RAID hard drive repair option. Is there any hope of recovering the data on the hard drives?

Monalisa.

Hi Monalisa,

RAID-5 also uses distributed parity. Parity data is stored and distributed among the drives, and when one drive fails, parity information can be used to rebuild the data on the disk.

RAID 5 protects against a single disk failure. Contact Professional Data Recovery Services that offer RAID Recovery. Need not worry Monalisa, you can very easily recover all your data if a single disk breaks.

Hope this helps you!
