Hi Brooke,
RAID stands for
Redundant Array of Independent Disks. It is a method of combining several hard
drives into one single unit. RAID offers fault tolerance, data integrity, increased
storage capacity, speeds up data access and protects data from hard drive
failure. RAID has various standard specifications (levels) like RAID 0, 1, 0+1,
3, 5 etc. each with theoretical advantages and disadvantages.
