Hi All,

I have a server that I am running Windows 2003 and exchange 2003. Last night I had 2 of my 5 hard drives fail on me. I am running a raid 5 each of the hard drives are 80 GB.

I found a source for replacing the hard drives but I am wondering if it is possible for the server to rebuild the 2 failed drives? At this point the Server will not boot, it comes to the message that I need to replace the drive(s) in bank 0 and 4.

What are the chances that I can get the data from the RAID? How can I rebuild the RAID?

Hi Barden,

We both are sailing in the same boat. I too have a failed RAID5 array with two failed drives(RAID of 5 drives). I am trying to get information on how to recover data from it from past one month. Can anyone out there throw some light on this issue please.....

Addison.

Hi there,

RAID5 can rebuild only if one of the harddrives fails. In your case, with two failed drives, I am afraid you won't be able to have the array rebuild.

Aiyana.

Aiyana is correct. If 2 drives in a RAID5 array fail, it can't be rebuild. Don't Panic! barden and addison. RAID Recovery Services can help you recover the data.

Hope this helps you.

Salvager.
