SCSI is Small Computer System Interface is very commonly used to connect hard drives and other computer peripherals like tape drives, CD players, scanners etc. It is used by Apple Macintosh Computers, PC's and many UNIX systems. SCSI is an extremely fast device access protocol that transmits data at a high speed of 80 megabytes per second.

SCSI can support/connect 7 to 15 devices. SCSI, pronounced as "Skuzzy" connects all the devices together in a daisy chain. Technically, SCSI refers to a parallel interconnect technology which implements the SCSI technology. The various types of SCSI interfaces that are widely used are:

  • SCSI-1
  • SCSI-2
  • Wide SCSI
  • Fast SCSI
  • Fast Wide SCSI
  • Ultra SCSI, are to mention a few.
