Recovery Glossary > Megahertz
Megahertz is the unit of measuring the bandwidth for high speed digital
data, analog and digital video signals, and spread spectrum signals. Megahertz
is abbreviated as MHz. one megahertz represents one million cycles per
second. In computers megahertz is used to measure the clock speed of microprocessors.
Megahertz is the chief factor that determines the power of a microprocessor.
If a microprocessor runs at 200 megahertz, it indicate that the microprocessor
has executes 200 million cycles per second.
