Megahertz is the unit of measuring the bandwidth for high speed digital data, analog and digital video signals, and spread spectrum signals. Megahertz is abbreviated as MHz. one megahertz represents one million cycles per second. In computers megahertz is used to measure the clock speed of microprocessors.

Megahertz is the chief factor that determines the power of a microprocessor. If a microprocessor runs at 200 megahertz, it indicate that the microprocessor has executes 200 million cycles per second.
