Low Level Formatting is the process of making the drive ready to for
use by a computer. It is the process creating sectors onto a hard disk
to store digital computer information. LLF can also be referred as the
initial formatting done to a hard drive so that the operating system can
access the required areas for generating the file structure.
Low Level Formatting involves organizing or allocating physical space
for data storage. LLF is the first step after physical installation is
over. Now-a-days the drives usually come with LLF that is they are already
divided into tracks and sectors.
