Firmware is the computer program in a Read-Only Memory's integrated circuit.
These are the permanent instructions in the ROM for the purpose of controlling
the computer operations. The firmware is liable for the system's behavior
when it is first switched on.
Firmware is the software embedded in the computer hardware devices instructing
how to perform and execute. Some of the examples of firmware are:
- BIOS found in PC's
- ACRS used for silicon graphics
- Open Firmware used in Apple computers. Etc
