Fibre channel is a networking interface which features high performance,
speed, great capacity, flexibility, scalability, cabling distance and
simplified cabling. It is a technology for transmitting data between computer
devices at considerably high speed of 4-10 Gbps. Fibre channel includes
the components like hubs, switches and cabling.
Fibre channel is a high-speed interconnection used between computers,
peripherals and networks. It is best suited for connecting computer servers.
Fibre channel is three times faster than Small Computer System Interface
(SCSI) and hence is widely used. It is a bi-directional, topology independent,
multi-protocol, highly scalable interconnection medium.
