Disk is a storage device or medium used for storing digital or computer
information. It is a thin platter coated with magnetized material to store
data.
Disks are generally categorized into three types hard disk, floppy disk
and optical disk. Disks are used to store machine readable data. Every
disk has a read/write head that helps in easy accessing of data stored.
However disks store considerable amount of data but does not access the
data faster than main memory.
