Dedicated servo is a technology which provides position information for the read/write head of the dedicated disk containing no user information. Dedicated servo provides signals required by the actuator to tune the position of the read/write head.

It is a scheme which has a prerecorded pattern and provides position information to the servo security by means of head reading the disk surface.
