Recovery Glossary > Damage Disk
A disk is said to be damaged, when the data contained in it is inaccessible.
The damage may be either a physical or logical damage. Some of the causes
for disk damage are:
- When the disk is making an abnormal noise like clicking etc.
- When the BIOS cannot detect the hard disk.
- When Scandisk, Chkdsk, Vrepair commands are executed automatically
while starting the system.
- When the hard disk does not execute created new partition, format
or any action that they lead may lead to loss of data.
