What is meant by Tape Vaulting?

Tape vaulting is a process where the data in the tapes is secured by companies offering offline backup, here the data is stored in vaults so that it can be retrieved when ever necessary and the companies do not face the problem of data loss. The companies transport the required tape to the recovery site of the client’s choice and help to restore the data.

The tapes are moved in a secure transport vehicle under complete lock down to safe guard the tapes, the tapes are transported in a secured vehicle and vaulted. The tapes are secured by card key access.
