What is FAT?
FAT is the acronym of File Allocation Table, DOS use the FAT to manage
disk space available. The Fat helps DOS to allocate portion of disk belong
to particular file.
FAT helps to link all the clusters of the file present on the disk in
different places; it also provides information about the free and bad
sectors on the logical disk.
